So the subbing was done in a unique way. It was the first TV series to have the "kuns", "chans", "san", and "samas" left intact. It attempted to leave the dialog as a blend of both cultures, rather than to change it to an Americanized stories completely. No one knew whether people would accept it's unique style of both translations or subbing techniques...including myself. At times, I felt even Bruce thought I was crazy for letting people see it that way, but never did he say so. What happened with the popularity of not only the series but the style in which it was done, surprised me very much. . From The 1994 Bandai Catalog
