situation in Portugal better." "Here in Portugal the situation has been still for quite a while after the great Dragon Ball explosion when almost everyone watched DB and DBZ on TV (even myself ^ _^)." "In the 80s TV was filled with classic anime as Mirai Shonen Conan, Heidi, Akage No Anne, etc..." "After the beginning of the 90's very few Anime stuff made it into Portuguese TV, only Tsubasa and now Sailor Moon (they've aired all the series up to the end), also Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z which was a huge hit being talked everywhere (from newspapers to TV shows and even theater - where people made fun with the character names). The whole Shin seiki Evangelion series was also aired. Now, still on, are the Dragon Ball and DBZ movies and also Tenchi Muyo (the TV series)." - Nausicaa (US version subbed Portuguese), Totoro and Porco Rosso (both excellent Brazilian dubs) from Miyazaki - Some Manga Entertainment titles as Ghost in the shell, Wings of Honneamise, Dominion Tank Police, etc... - Some other imported stuff and a few older things that have got into our market some years ago (as Nausicaa)... you could find quite some merchandise and manga, and even subbed videos, but it had to close. Now we can find manga and some merchandise and anime in "Comics" (we call it BD) stores. anime as Dragon Ball and something very violent for kids. We've showed Mononoke Hime a week ago to 60 people in the cinema of my university and everyone liked it. We'll be probably holding a national anime festival in mid 1999. you and idea). http://ptsoft.simplenet.com/cap/ Tiago Dias |
For example, the first episode has been changed with 19th episode. It is impressive how many cuttings and remakes there are in italian version. There are unreal dialogs, complete minutes of video cut, with fantastic endings and startings of episodes remake. So, to have the same period of the episodes, because of a lot of cuttings, the point of end of the episodes has been changed. The worst of the italian version are the unreal dialogs, created by italian authors, that have completly damaged the spirit of the characters; so they often speak without a real motivation, when in the original version, there was silence. |
anime on TV, and some other (so much) buy manga, but manga isn't at a good situation. Manga publication has very bad paper and the prices are too expensive. And Dragon Ball has very fans, many of them childs. But the real fan of anime is little. And manga/anime is set-back. TV don't help to continue with the boom and manga is set-back on sale. But they say always that manga/anime has no future and the end will arrive in one or two years, but each year past and manga already exists. Their were rumors of a new anime channel on digital-TV but it ended on a childs channel were they send out some anime (these anime was already send out 7 years ago, so as Ashita no Joe, some differents TV-series of Go Nagai, Conan Future Boy, and some others more), so it's wasn't really new anime. But it's not so bad the situation. |
