"I just wanted to let you know how much my friends and I are enjoying your sub of Fushigi Yuugi immensely. I'm making everyone in my office nuts because I keep singing the opening them! I especially like the extra info you give during the closing credits and in between some of the episodes. I'm sure I still would have loved the series regardless of how good the subbing was, but the excellent job you did on it made it that much more enjoyable. Thank you so much - expect another order from em for more episodes!"

Monica

"I'm finally going to watch the grand finale of FY! I can most definitely say you are the best fansubber anyone can find! My deepest gratitude to you for all your time and effort that you put into your projects. Keep up the wonderful work!!"

"Once again, thank you very much!"

"I love the things that you put at the end of the tapes plus all of the explanations and extra comments that you give at times. They make me wish that all ANIME was done by fans instead of businesses".

My friends are just as hooked on it as I (the majority of anime fans at my school are female partly 'cuz it's fashionable. It...FY is even better than I expected it to be!"

Authoress' name wasn't on her letter. It was likely only on the envelop.

"Anyway, you're doing a great job, Karen. The font you've picked is nicely mysterious, and is a nice touch that helps convey the atmosphere of mystery and wonder"

Eric

"So far, I've loved the subbing on Fushigi Yuugi...your style is both easy to read, and (if it's possible) IMHO, really makes it easier to tell HOW the person is talking, not just what they're saying. I especially like the notes you've included before certain episodes, and during the credits...its' a lot easier to understand the CONTENT of the dialog that way. As opposed to describing it in the span of three second, in the body of the show, that is."

Jason

"It's (Fushigi) been a favorite of mind and I now have my father, step-mother, sister, and cousin hooked on the series, my sister especially. She has never been into anime, but something about FY really attracted her. All I had to do was show her the opening credits and she wanted to see it."

"I was extremely please with your AWESOME fansubbing techniques on the Fushigi Yuugi..."

Maria

"If you could e-mail me back, it would be wonderful (and then I could go around bragging to all my friends that the REAL Karen Duffy 3-mailed me. He he he.) No, seriously, if you could send me back the info, I would be one very happy Amiboshi lover!"

Thank you so much!

Kiri

"Yesterday, a good friend of mine brought over some Fushigi Yuugi. I loved the show. But even more, I LOVED the subbing. I've never seen such careful subbing. And putting notes about the language and the show sold me!!! I think you guys are the best!!"

James

"Fushigi Yuugi is one of the series that has captured me in a way that very few anime has. It's got all of my favorite aspects of anime (swords and sorcery, romance, and comedy)all wrapped up in one very neat package.

And it probably doesn't hurt that I have a very soft spot for vain, long-haired beautiful, frighteningly competent swordsmen. (Lucky for me that there are no such creatures in real life or I would find myself in a lot more trouble than I could handle...)"

"I wanted to thank you for the excellent job you did subtitling FY. I really enjoyed the cultural explanations and other language notes you added. Thank you! thank you! Thank you! I've become addicted to this show."

Vanessa

"You probably get tied of hearing this, but you really did an incredible job on Fushigi Yuugi. So far the story just bets better and better. I especially enjoy the inside commentary - which makes it just that much more of an experience. If it ever gets picked up by an American Company, they really should take some pointers from you.

Don

"Howdy Y'all! Just jokin', we don't' really talk like that here, that often anyway! How are you? I know you guys have been extremely busy with the FY series and lot more I'm sure. I have to tell you that you have done an exceptional job! I saw the first volume you did back in November '96 and I simple fell in love with the series!"

"Thanks for all your hard work and effort! I like your artistic style of subtitles. I think it compliments the story line."

Stephanie

Hello! Recently, I got an opportunity to watch you subs of Fushigi Yuugi...and I must say, great job! I'm sure you hear this all the time, but I really admire the work that's been put into this. It's a wonderful series, and I feel it has been enhanced in particular by the fonts used. My friends and I especially like the creepy font used when Miaka's brother shouts "Western Black Magic!!" That was classic. The scene was funny in itself, but the creative font made it even funnier. And the regular font used is very pretty; it's appropriate to the series, definitely gives the subs a distinct flavor. I also appreciate the little informational notes in the ending credits, and from time to time in between episodes. Those are neat! And the romanized song lyrics are helpful."

Allison

"I'm also really impressed by the high quality subtitling from Tomodachi Anime..."

"Tomodachi Anime seems to get the timing just right. Also, the notes from Karen before and after each episode are really important and vital to understanding the series! It's cool that Karen has an understanding of Japanese culture and is able to explain obscure references which would otherwise fly right over our heads. For example, it was only after reading Karen's explanation during the closing credits that I was able to figure out that Hotohori had proposed to Miaka in Vol. 6. It totally changed how I perceived the characters' motivations and their emotions."
